On Pocketful of Sunshine, Natasha Bedingfield sounds like Joss Stone only bouncier. Nothing wrong with that. In fact, the brightness and buoyancy of this record will keep it spinning long after CDs that shoot for hipster credibility–with funked-up bells and fancy production whistles–have been deposited back into their jewel cases for all eternity. Check it out: “Love Like This,” with Sean Kingston, puts its hands in the air for puppy love–the kind that’ll bring you back to your “middle school kiss”–and a couple of other songs follow the youth-themed suit. “Backyard” time-travels to an idyllic childhood, while “Freckles” fleshes out, for the benefit of the insecure, the beauty in imperfections. Elsewhere, Bedingfield is her indomitably upbeat self. Opener “Put Your Arms Around Me” reeks of reassurance and tenderness. “Happy” implores would-be gloom-and-doomers to snap out of it, and while the title track doesn’t wander all that far lyrically, it benefits from a chanted verse brimmed in (positive) attitude. If, like most of the pop-listening public, you heard Timbaland’s chart-topping remix of OneRepublic’s single “Apologize” before you heard the original, you may be mildly confused about what kind of music the band makes. Timabaland’s signature electronic swizzles and “eh-eh-eh”s leave the impression that OneRepublic is a style-heavy outfit a la Maroon 5, but frontman Ryan Tedder’s plaintive words and woebegone themes don’t fall far from forerunners Keane, Coldplay, and the Fray. Dreaming Out Loud chisels away at the dichotomy. “Apologize,” stripped of its swizzles, is a gorgeous modern rock song made all the more gorgeous by the urgency in Tedder’s striking, unscuffed voice, and a lot of the songs on this record stack up similarly. Which is to say that, although tracks like “Tyrant” and opener “Say (All I Need)” wrap themselves around some seriously stylish production, substance is really this band’s thing. A piano played by turns ferociously and tenderly drives the point home, and so do some choice lyrics; if you are inclined to choke up at feelings laid bare, check out “Goodbye, Apathy” and “Come Home” at your own risk.

3 Doors Down – Citizen Soldier

“Citizen Soldier” is a single by the American alternative rock band 3 Doors Down. The song was released as a single in November 2007 in conjunction with a recruitment campaign by the United States National Guard. The lyrics convey the band’s views regarding the actions performed by the Guard.

A music video (directed by Antoine Fuqua) released to movie theaters, the National Guard website, and other outlets portrays the history of the Guard and employs current members of the Guard as actors.

The Smashing Pumpkins – American Gothic EP (2008)

American Gothic was produced by Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlin, with one song co-produced by Roy Thomas Baker. The songs were recorded at the Pass Studio in Los Angeles, CA while the Pumpkins were on a break between their 2007 national tour and upcoming 2008 European tour.

“We have always regretted not recording more in between tours because albums have never caught the full story of the group…it’s sort of Zeitgeist+,” says BILLY of American Gothic, the title of which is “continued comment on the state of our country.”

TRAVIS – SELFISH JANE

“Selfish Jean” adalah sebuah single dari band alternative rock asal Scottish (Travis) lagu ini merupkan lagu ditrack ke dua dalam album mereka yang keluar ditahun 2007 ini yang berjudul The Boy With No Name. Dan lagu ini merupakan single kedua mereka di album tersebut, yang sudah direlease pada 9 July 2007 lalu.

Selfish Jean was written by Fran Healy between 2005 and 2006, most likely in his apartment in New York, and was demoed using Healy’s own computer. He sampled the drum intro from the Iggy Pop song Lust For Life, looped it to create a basic rhythm, and then played the song and recorded vocals over the top of the rhythm track. The demo was then taken to Travis drummer Neil Primrose as an example of what to play, and thus, the song exists in its current form.

Systematic Chaos is the upcoming ninth studio release of the progressive metal band Dream Theater. It is Dream Theater’s first album with Roadrunner Records.

Systematic Chaos was written and recorded from September 2006 to January 2007 at Avatar Studios in New York City, co-produced by drummer Mike Portnoy and guitarist John Petrucci and engineered by Paul Northfield. The final mix was signed off on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2007.^[1] The final master of the CD was finished and the track listing was released^[2] on February 21, 2007. It is scheduled for release in June, 2007.

Fifty Dream Theater fans from the New York area were given the opportunity to perform on the new album in January 2007 through Portnoy’s Internet forum, and have provided chants for at least one of the songs.

In an interview with Tama.com, drummer Mike Portnoy described the album as “Heavy and technical, powerful and dynamic — all of the elements that people kind of expect out of a Dream Theater album. All of the styles and sounds are intact, but we wanted to make it a real sonic explosion. It’s very dramatic and aggressive.”

The album will also contain another, and possibly the last song in Mike Portnoy’s series of songs about his experience with alcoholism (so far The Glass Prison on Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence, This Dying Soul on Train of Thought and The Root of All Evil on Octavarium).

Contrary to some earlier reports, there are eight tracks (as “In the Presence of Enemies” is in two parts).

New Jazz Album Free For Download

This British Group was formed in 1980 as a jazz-funk fusion band. For 2 decades, they have been successful with so many hits that top the chart. Mark King’s slap bass techniques that usually became the rhythm and groove basis for the songs, and the falsetto from Mark Lindup, are always the main attraction for them, the trademark of Level 42. I don’t have to talk about how good their songs are, i just have to talk about the tracklist of their best albums. I’ve noticed their best albums were never complete. There’s always 1 or 2 hits is missing. So, me and my friend blackmamba decided to make our own compilation, where we put ALL of their hits, including Guaranteed and Three Words (this one, as far as i remember, is never placed in any best album, and quite rare..). Swing Out Sister – The Best

Swing Out sister is a British duo that became a superstar in mid 80s. They started the group in form of 3 person, then later on, they became just duo. Corrine Drewery, the vocalist, has a really unique voice, wide range, soft and sexy. They reached the stardom with their superhits, Breakout. People place them under different sub genres, like pop jazz, smooth jazz, cool jazz to acid jazz. Makes sense, cuz they have all the ingredients to fit into those kind of sub genres. All of their songs are the result of fine blend between synthesizer, trumpet/brass section, with really cool vocal. Swing Out Sister have all the correct ingrediants like attractive female lead, infectious melodies, danceable, uplifting and addictive. Really, it’s fun and light but always musically interesting at the same time. Very very recommended.

Ini album keluaran tahun 2004, album yang menurut gw sangat direkomendasikan buat penggemar jazz sebenarnya. Fourplay memiliki style unik, hasil kolaborasi 4 punggawa jazz yang, walaupun masing2 punya taste tersendiri, tapi sinergi dan kolaborasi mereka yang kompak abis telah terbukti selama bertahun2. You wanna feel the taste of old skool jazz, in every good way? a record that has uniqueness, originality and mixture of flavor? A mature jazz fans that need a high quality and creative arrangement of songs? this is the one for you. Excellent mix of vocals and instrumentals too.. again, it’s recommended from me.

Java Jazz 2007, merupakan pentas selebrasi jazz termegah tahunan di Indonesia. Tidak kurang dari 3 hari, puluhan jazzer ternama, legenda, dalam dan luar negeri turut ambil bagian memberikan suguhan terbaik mereka. Nama2 terkenal spt Chaka Khan, Sergio Mendes, David Benoit, Jeffrey Osbourne, Bubi Chen, Ireng Maulana, Level 42, Lisa Ono hingga Jamie Cullum hadir disana. Buat teman2 yang karena satu dan lain hal berhalangan hadir, gw pengen ngebagi sesuatu, sekedar oleh2 kecil, supaya semuanya bisa kebagian dalam momen luar biasa ini.

Ini adalah CD Official Java Jazz 2007 yang berisi 18 lagu2 keren abis, yang gw rip langsung dari CD. So, kualitasnya ga usah diraguin. Tidak semua pengisi CD ini hadir disana, tapi jelas, CD ini bisa mewakili suasana, momen dan sejarah Java Jazz 2007. Java Jazz Fest 2007 menampilkan salah satu maestro jazz indonesia, Bubi Chen. Seperti tahun2 sebelumnya, oom Bubi tampil memukau didepan para penggemarnya. Kontribusi, semangat dan kepeduliannya terhadap jazz di Indonesia membuat gw salut sekaligus terharu. Oom Bubi kali ini tampil dengan kursi roda.. ya, dalam kondisi spt itu beliau tetap tampil dgn sempurna. Semoga beliau lekas sembuh..

Kali ini gw rilis salah satu albumnya, keluaran tahun 1998 yang diberi judul Wonderful World, dimana beliau tampil dengan para sahabat dekatnya spt Benny Likumahuwa, Oele Pattiselano, dll.Ini album yg menurut gw sangat kental jazznya, melodious, dan ga kalah ama artis2 luar. Good Charlotte sebuah band yang mengusung genre pop punk ini kembali merilis album keempatnya yang mereka beri judul Good Morning Revival. Berbeda dengan album yang sebelum-sebelumnya yang mungkin bagi sebagian orang terlalu bising dan ribet. Tetapi di album ini mereka menyajikan dalam berbagai warna yang rada berbeda.

Album ini belum dilepas kepasaran. Rencana awal mereka album ini akan di pasarkan pada June 2006, tetapi mereka mengundurkan kebulan oktober dan di undur lagi ke bulan February. Dan Lead Vokalnya Joel Madden mengatakan lagi dalam salah satu wawancara bahwa album ini akan di undur lagi dan dilepas kepasaran pada bulan March 2007.

Tetapi tidak masalah bagi penggemar berat Good Charlotte ini yang sudah tidak sabar untuk segera mendengarkan aroma musik mereka di album ini. Bisa kita dengarkan di web mereka (http://www.goodcharlotte.com/) karena salah satu personil mereka Benji Madden sudah memposting sebuah video klip dari “Keep Your Hands Off My Girl”.

Dan single pertama mereka dalam album ini yang berjudul “The River” featuring lead vokalnya Avenged Sevenfold M Shadow dan gitaris Synyster Gates, sudah online semenjak 4th January 2007.

This is an album, where you can feel the touch of jazz. (makanya gw bikin judulnya jg itu hehe..) Album ini isinya variatif, baik dari aliran jazznya maupun penyanyinya. Semuanya easy listening, ga ada yg bikin pusing/mumet.. as for me, the main reason for me to jazzin’ my day is i wanna have a happy, relax and free life. Bagi yg udah tau lagu2nya, gw yakin seratus persen setuju ama gw, bagi yg belum tau, bakal rugi banget kalo sampai melewatkan album ini.

well… everybody. serius. Bagi penggemar berat jazz, penggemar masing2 sub genre/aliran, jelas gw rekomen banget. Bagi yang baru/mau belajar kenalan ama jazz? ini bakal perfect banget.Disini ada nu-jazz, ada swing, ada bossa/samba, ada original jazz, ada “le parissien“, ada funk jazz, dan lain2. Penyanyi dari berbagai negara, semua gw rangkum jadi satu. Lagunya asik buat nyantai, buat nyetir, buat dinner dll. Ga percaya? coba deh.

Finally i got my blog again

wah akhirnya gw bisa mengakses kembali blog gw yang disini. semenjak habis gempa ditaiwan itu yang memutuskan fiber optic buat koneksi internet dan membuat rata-rata koneksi internet yang ada di Indonesia mengalami gangguan untuk mengakses web yang letak hostnya diluar negeri. Dan tanpa terkecuali koneksi gw dikantor barupun ikut mengalamin gangguan.

Untuk beberapa site sich tidak beberapa lama gangguannya. Tapi buat mengakses blog gw yang di wordpress ini baru kali ini bisa lagi diakses. Makanya gw tidak bisa untuk mengupdate blog gw yang disini. Dan hanya mengupdate blog gw yang untuk mendownload lagu saja yang bisa.  Jadi gw mohon maaf jika ada pengunjung tetap di blog gw ini.. (halah.. emang ada gitu..? ) jika tidak pernah lagi melihat update terbaru di blog gw ini terutama satu bulan kebelakang.

Fort Minor – The Invasion

Along with the tracks that are scheduled to appear on Fort Minor’s first album ‘The Rising Tied’, Mike Shinoda and his friends and collaborators recorded a whole series of extra tracks. Aimed at the more core element of hip-hop as opposed to the alternative style of the album, the Mixtape features tracks that didn’t quite make the cut, tracks that didn’t fit in to the tone and style of the album, and some specially recorded tracks with some extra special guests. The mixtape features collaborators such as DemiGodz members Styles of Beyond, Apathy and Celph Titled, as well as Juelz Santana, Wu Tang Clan’s Ghostface and Lupe Fiasco.

As well as the collaborations, the mixtape also features a series of remixes, including Mike Shinoda’s highly anticipated remix of Styles of Beyond’s Megadef hit ‘Bleach’, and previously unheard mixes of ‘Petrified’ and ‘Remember The Name’. The tape also features a remix of Linkin Park’s ‘Nobody’s Listening’ by DJ Green Lantern. Mike’s ‘100 Degrees’, a track previously featured on the MTV Video Music Awards score is also set to appear on the tape.

The Used – In Love And Death

The Used’s In Love and Death is their official sophomore album, following the tide over hodgepodge of 2003’s Maybe Memories. They’ve found some harder guitars in the interim, filling “Take It Away” and ‘I Caught Fire” with directly energizing chord progressions that spill over rewardingly into triumphant choruses. “Away” even revitalizes the ridiculously played-out singing guy/screaming guy dynamic that the Used and so many of their peers unfailingly deploy. The rest of In Love and Death plays directly to the bruised souls and bleeding hearts of tortured teenage scribblers everywhere, incorporating emo/punk revivalist genre touchstones like tortured/sweet vocals, jarring time shifts, and elaborately-layered production techniques. Overall it’s a promising effort from the Used.
